The solar general manager is responsible and accountable for direct oversight and management of BHE Renewables’ solar energy projects through the entire project lifecycle. Located at the project job site in Rosamond California, the solar general manager is responsible for the safe, cost effective and timely execution of project development, construction, commissioning and operations of over 600
Mw of solar and BESS generating assets.
Ensures the safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective project development, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the solar generating plant Develop and direct programs designed to improve solar generating plant’s performance in the areas of safety, efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance. (60%) Ensures compliance with all environmental laws, policies and regulations governing work at the jobsite and on the project. Directly responsible for ensuring contractors performing construction work on site comply with all environmental and land use permit conditions.
Reviews environmental scope, files permits and audits construction/operations activities. (20%) Negotiates and participates in the development of contracts associated with the project (i.e. equipment purchase and consulting agreements). (5%) Maintains project schedules; provides performance and financial reporting to management; keeps management informed on specified frequency (i.e. weekly status reports, monthly reports). (5%) Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the community and stakeholders.
(5%) Assists in the hiring of site maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine the competency, knowledge, and contribution of the site maintenance personnel (5%) Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5%)
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Eight years of related project management or renewable energy experience including three years supervisory management responsibilities. Knowledge in new renewable/alternative energy power projects preferred.

Project management skills: ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
