Location: Edwards Air Force Base
Duties
* Employee has responsibility for small, routine projects or performs portions of large projects assigned to a higher-grade professional (e.g., environmental engineer, program manager, or physical scientist).
* Executes short-term goals and priorities to support environmental compliance programs to include hazardous waste, hazardous materials, water quality, POL, solid waste, air quality, and toxic substances utilizing available resources.
* Supports quality improvement and promotes environmental awareness programs.
* Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment. Ensures adherence to safety and security practices. Requirements Conditions of employment

SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Generalized experience includes knowledge and use of environmental protection program principles and procedures applicable to a wide range of duties in one or more program areas, and a high level of skill in applying this knowledge in solving complex problems involving diverse aspects of environmental protection.

Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR
EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position.

(KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of environmental physical science principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively perform project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned projects. 2:
Knowledge to troubleshoot environmental problems requiring investigation of unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned projects. 3:
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to make decisions and recommendations concerning assigned restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices. 4:
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others. 5:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
EXPERIENCE:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER
