Steamboat Springs School District is seeking qualified Substitute Teachers for the school year.

General ResponsibilitiesSteamboat Springs School District is seeking qualified Substitute Teachers to support the needs of the District. Ideal candidates will have previous education experience, a desire to work with all students and all grade levels, and be able to work with changing roles on a daily basis. Applicants must have a current Colorado Substitute Authorization or current Colorado Teacher License. If you have either a current Colorado Substitute Authorization or current Colorado Teacher License, please upload this to your application under "TYPE - Teaching Certificate" when prompted.
Upon completion of all district employment requirements, candidate will be considered eligible for active substitute consideration by the schools. These positions are active for the current school year only and all will be asked to reapply annually. The District uses AESOP (Absence Management Program)/Frontline for contacting daily substitutes on an as-needed basis.
This position is considered a temporary/on call position for the school year and is paid on a daily basis at $200.00 per day. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Primary Responsibilities- Report to the assigned building Office Manager upon arrival for the work day.
- Implement the teacher's plans and schedules to be adhered to during the school day.
- Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
- Follow & teach the approved SSSD curriculum as provided in lesson plans provided by the teacher.
- Promote and maintain student behavior expectations conducive to learning and maximize learning time.
- Encourage, monitor, and promote student progress.
- Assume the responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in the classroom, during lunch, activity periods, and out-of-class settings.
- Provide a summary report in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each day for the teacher.
- Work cooperatively with all school personnel and interact in a professional manner with students, parents and staff.
- Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Adhere to the established policies and regulations of the School and District.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED required for 1-year Authorization and Authorization must be approved by Director of Human Resources.
- If previously licensed out-of-state teacher, may be eligible for a 3-year Authorization.
- BA Degree required for 3 or 5-year Authorization.

An incorrect decision made by this position could impact the district legally causing financial condition of district to be affected. Errors made in decision-making could potentially result in substantial cost to the District or damage the credibility of the District.
