Job Summary

Performs food preparation such as baking, cooking, heating and serving duties to students and staff; maintains and cleans equipment and work areas according to established sanitation standards and regulations; inspects food items to monitor quality and quantity.

Requirements / Qualifications

Prepares (preps, bakes, cooks, heating) and packages food items for general consumption by students and staff.

Serves food and beverages to meet mandated nutritional requirements and requests of students and staff, indoors and outdoors (may include use of mobile carts).

Stocks food items and supplies to maintain adequate quantities.

Inspects food items and supplies to verify accurate quantities of deliveries and orders.

Cleans equipment and work areas to maintain sanitary facilities.

Collects money for meal transactions.

Prepares documentation for written support and/or conveying information.

Serves as cashier, collects monies and provides correct change.

Follows California Retail Food Code (Cal Code) and HACCP procedures as directed.

Maintains kitchen, storeroom, and freezers in a neat and organized manner.

Assists other staff to provide support and back-up as needed.

May use district vehicle for food delivery.

Attends meetings and additional training to update skills and convey required information.

Education:

High School Diploma

Experience:

One (1) year of experience in food preparation, serving, and basic kitchen activities.

Pass District Test;
Food Handlers Card.

Food Handler's Certificate
