Position: Educational Interpreter for the Deaf, Signing Bonus $4000
Location: Newcastle

General Purpose

Part‑Time

An Educational lnterpreter is responsible to the County Superintendent and works under the supervision of the designated manager(s). The Educational lnterpreter provides voice to sign and sign to voice interpreting for students, staff and others to assist students in accessing their education; tutors and provides assistance to students who are deaf; and assists with the instruction and supervision of students.

Requirements / Qualifications

$4000 Signing Bonus: $2000 provided at completion of each of your first 2 years of employment

Applicants must submit the following:
Proof of CPR Certification or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days

  • Must posses a valid California Drivers License
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
  • Certification (Completion of an accredited college‑level interpreter training program is required.)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Other (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), or equivalent assessment certification with a score of 4.0 or higher.)
  • Resume
  • Test Results/Materials (Educational Interpreter Written Assessment or equivalent assessment certification with a pass/fail score of 75% or higher)
