Stevenson School is a PK-12 co‑educational, college‑preparatory boarding and day school located on the beautiful Central Coast of California, with enrollment of 750 students across two campuses: the Upper Division campus (Grades 9‑12) in Pebble Beach and the Lower/Middle Division campus (Grades PK‑8) in nearby Carmel‑by‑the‑Sea. Stevenson School is seeking a Spanish Language Teacher to start in August 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate native or near‑native Spanish proficiency and possess content expertise to teach all levels up to and including AP Spanish Literature. Aptitude with educational technology and familiarity with T.P.R.S. and C.I. methods is highly desirable. The role includes advisory and co‑curricular responsibilities. Eagerness to authentically engage with students outside the classroom—either on the playing fields or working with clubs—is key.
This is a full‑time faculty position on Stevenson’s Pebble Beach campus.
- Teach up to five sections of Spanish.
- Provide timely feedback and/or grading of assessments and assignments so students can incorporate their feedback into upcoming work and understand their grade standing throughout the term.
- Provide clear expectations and remain appropriately accessible to students who may need additional conversation to understand those expectations.
- Support student learning by incorporating a variety of pedagogical approaches to facilitate understanding across an array of learning styles and develop students’ critical thinking, intellectual, and social/emotional skills.
- Act as a competent, trusted, reliable, and informed advisor to the assigned group of students.
- Enthusiastically engage with students through and meet expectations of assigned co‑curricular activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in a target language or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of previous teaching experience of world languages at a similar grade level.
- Strong English language speaking and writing skills.
- Experience with, and willingness to utilize, T.P.R.S. and C.I. methods to foster language acquisition.
- Ability to teach multiple grade levels on a daily basis.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated confidence and aptitude with instructional technology and computer‑assisted language learning and assessment tools such as STAMP, and experience with or willingness to learn a learning management system such as Canvas.
- Demonstrated participation in professional development opportunities to support excellence in teaching Spanish language.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with all members of the community.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all information disseminated within or external to the school community.

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $90,000 based on experience.
