Location: Upper Lake
Birch Agency, a nationally recognized company in educational services, is looking for a few dedicated Education Specialists/Special Education Teachers (Extensive Support Needs) to join our team in the Upper Lake, CA area! We have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special needs, and we are hiring like-minded professionals to be part of our team.
Job Details- Full-time (7:40a-4:00p daily)
- Caseload: 9-12 students
- Extensive Support Needs
- Age group:
Elementary - Start: ASAP | End:
June 2026 - Pay starting at $55/hr
- Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
- Valid state license or certification for Moderate/Severe/ESN Education Specialist
- Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs
- Provide direct/group instructions to students with disabilities
- Develop lesson plans/instructional material to meet needs of student’s IEP
- Conduct educational assessments
- Attend IEP meetings
- Assist in planning and development of IEP
- Facilitate implementation of special education services
- Collaborate with other members who are part of the special education team
- Employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners
- Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers and staff to support student’s academic success
- Modify traditional education curriculum to meet student’s needs
- Ensure appropriate accommodations are available for classroom instruction and testing
- Employ techniques for positive behavioral support
- Assist in the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions
