JOB TITLE: Dentist

LOCATION: Grass Valley

REPORTS TO: Dental Director

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Registered Dental Assistant

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Contract position responsible for providing high-quality dental care for Western Sierra Dental Clinic patients with the goal of patient learning to prevent dental disease.

GENERAL DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  • Practice general dentistry including:
    • Preventative Care
    • Diagnosis
    • Restorative
    • Oral Surgery
    • Periodontics
    • Endodontics
    • Crowns
    • Dentures
  • Complete treatment plans for all patients examined.
  • Maintain records of treatments.
  • Patient and community education.
  • Develop and implement infection control procedures.
  • Supervise Registered Dental Assistant and provide direction to Dental Receptionist.
  • Maintain current CPR requirements.
  • Documents all pertinent information in the patient’s electronic medical record according to Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures.
  • Upholds Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures, infection control standards, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Quality Improvement Duties:
    • Participates in quality improvement activities;
    • Participates as assigned in interdepartmental quality improvement team efforts; and
    • Contributes to overall Community Health Center efforts in quality improvement towards higher-quality, more cost-effective health care for patients and improved quality of work-life for staff members.
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION and/or

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum Requirement:

  • Valid license to practice dentistry in the State of California
  • Ability to perform dentistry on all age groups
  • Knowledge of current infection control requirements
  • Additional

    Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with an electronic practice management system.
  • Computer literate (i.e. logging on to computer, usage of keyboard and mouse, familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel).
  • Ability to type 40 wpm.
  • Salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000 annually.
