Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in City of Industry, California. This role is vital in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the company's accounting operations within the construction industry. Responsibilities:

- Prepare and maintain accurate journal entries to ensure proper tracking of financial transactions.

- Manage the general ledger and reconcile accounts to verify financial data accuracy.

- Handle corporate tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

- Oversee sales tax reporting and payments, ensuring timely submissions.

- Monitor and manage Work-In-Progress (WIP) accounts to track project costs and progress.

- Conduct construction cost analysis to provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.

- Collaborate with project teams to maintain accurate construction accounting records.

- Utilize Microsoft Excel to create detailed financial reports and analyze data.

- Assist with financial audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.

- Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax processes and reporting.

- Experience with journal entries and general ledger management.

- Familiarity with Work-In-Progress (WIP) accounting and project cost tracking.

- Demonstrated expertise in construction accounting and cost analysis.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and report creation.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting
