Staff Accountant

About The Role

We are partnering with a publicly traded biotech company seeking a versatile and detail‑oriented Accountant to join its San Diego‑based team. This hybrid role offers a blend of month‑end close, general ledger, and operational accounting responsibilities, with exposure to SEC reporting and cross‑functional collaboration. $75,000 - $100,000. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

• Support month‑end close and general ledger reconciliations related to cash, revenue, inventory, and financial reporting.
• Assist with SEC reporting disclosures and internal control documentation.
• Process invoices in ERP system, route for approvals, and manage vendor payments.
• Audit expense reports.
• Apply customer payments, perform AR reconciliations, and support SOX compliance efforts.
• Handle AP and AR tasks, including invoice reviews, vendor setup, cash application, and purchase orders.
• Coordinate with internal teams to route contracts and onboard vendors.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience or background in public accounting (Big Four or national firm preferred).
• Progress toward CPA preferred.
• ERP system experience.
• Familiarity with SOX/internal controls.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
