Job SummaryResponsible for complex, technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization’s EHS standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements. Reviews, interprets and advises management on complex safety problems. Has complete understanding of safety principles, concepts, practices, standards and regulations. Reviews plant safety procedures and make recommendations for updates according to laws and regulations and good power plant practices.
Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the work place. Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential. Develops and conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs. Prepares and maintains all necessary environmental compliance documents and records. Coordinates the timely renewal of all permits, stack tests, boiler inspections etc.
May serve as the key safety/environmental position in small field or plant locations.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Engineering or Science.
- Requires 3+ years’ experience in EHS, preferably in the power generation industry.
- Ability to travel overnight 25% of the time.
