Warehouse Supervisor Build and mentor a high-performing warehouse team to improve inventory accuracy and on‑time fulfillment

Location:

Balzac, Alberta, Canada

Compensation: $72,000 – $77,000 CAD per year

About the Role

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll supervise Warehouse Associates who will unload containers of boxed furniture, organize the warehouse, and stage outgoing orders for our delivery partners.

The Warehouse department receives all our boxed furniture, inspects and adds the inventory to our system, then stores all our boxed furniture which is then loaded into delivery trucks – they ensure the right products are going to the right customers.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 11 PM (3rd Shift)

292031 Wagon Wheel Blvd, Balzac, Alberta, T4A 0E2

Team Size: 15+ (you’ll lead a team of 2 Warehouse Leads and about 13–15 associates)

Responsibilities
  • Following safe work procedures and ensuring the team works safely at all times
  • Setting expectations and providing support to the warehouse team and ensuring compliance with Article policies and regulations
  • Hiring, training, coaching, and developing the Warehouse Associates and Leads
  • Determining staffing levels and assigning workload
  • Identifying areas of improvement and establishing innovative or adjusting existing work procedures and practices
  • Partnering with other departments to execute new initiatives and issue resolution
  • Investigating, reporting, and acting on safety or customer service issues occurring in your warehouse
  • Monitoring hours worked, overtime, and ensuring accurate submission of payroll
  • Developing future leaders on the team to support our growth – you are always sharing your knowledge with the rest of the team
  • Embodying and demonstrating Article’s values and principles in all decision‑making and actions
  • Maintaining accurate inventory through organization and effective processes
  • Working with dispatch to coordinate and communicate outbound orders to be picked and loaded
  • Selecting proper container, methods of packing, cushioning and packing procedures
  • Preparing shipping documents for TL, LTL, and Fed Ex shipments
  • Maintaining good housekeeping in work areas
  • Working alongside your team to unload trucks, process returns, pick orders, and get the job done
Qualifications
  • Typically 3–5 years in warehouse operations, with a focus on inventory, returns management, or quality control (previous supervisory experience is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and systems
  • Experience with quarantine inventory and furniture quality improvement projects
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS) and MS/Google Suite
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Able to input, retrieve, and analyze data
  • Able to lift/maneuver up to 100 lbs. of merchandise by yourself
  • Able to lift/maneuver heavy items (±300 lbs.) with a team member and/or proper lifting equipment
  • A degree in logistics, supply‑chain management, or business is an asset but not required
  • Legally able to work in Canada
