Clean Harbors in Calgary, AB is seeking an Equipment Operator (Class 1 licensed) to join their safety conscious team! This role involves operating heavy equipment within company/customer facilities to stage and move waste material. The role will also require performing labor-intensive duties such as hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials. The position can also require working in confined spaces for tank and vessel cleaning.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and transport wet vacs, dry vacs, steam trucks, and related industrial equipment.
- Perform tank/vessel cleaning and hazardous waste cleanup, including maneuvering large hoses.
- Conduct pre-/post-trip inspections and ensure safe, proper equipment operation, report issues promptly.
- Respond to emergencies involving chemical/biological spills and support routine decontamination tasks.
- Operate light/heavy equipment (pumps, vac systems, generators, bobcats) and use various hand and powered industrial tools.
- Maintain equipment and follow all safety and environmental procedures.
Qualifications:
- Vacuum Truck Operating experience required.
- Ability to drive manual transmission.
- Willing to work after hours/nights for emergency response purposes.
- Willing to work out of town for extended periods of time.
- Class 1 license required.
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Safety tickets (First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, etc.) highly preferred
