Job Summary
Coordinates all operations related to aircraft loading and unloading activities; provides leadership to cargo handlers, operational and personnel support. May perform duties and responsibilities required of a courier, cargo handler, and/or dispatcher. Acts as a mentor for hourly employees, demonstrating strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities through Best Practices methods.
Key Responsibilities• Lead aircraft loading/unloading operations in a safe and efficient manner.
• Supervise cargo handlers and provide operational support.
• Serve as a mentor for hourly employees, modeling strong communication and leadership skills.
• Complete all required basic training and maintain yearly recurrency training and accreditation (e.g., GSE administrator/operator permit, DG Specialist certified, W&B certification).
• Pass R.C.M.P. assessment.
• Assist with Canadian customs paperwork and other necessary documentation.
- High school or educational equivalent.
- Six (6) months of experience/training in jet aircraft ground support equipment/aircraft operations.
- Proficiency in basic level Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of FAMIS, COSMOS, e‑mail, and Fed Ex intranet systems preferred.
- Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork.
- Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer and human relations skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
- Mandatory R.C.M.P. assessment pass.
- Preferred qualifications:
EXCEL/LEAP candidates; good understanding of Fed Ex products and loading/unloading procedures. - Grade: 84.
