In this role, you will be providing high-quality, tailored snowboard lessons to our guests, contributing to their skill development and love for winter sports. You will work in a dynamic, supportive setting, delivering engaging lessons safely, and collaborating with your team to ensure excellent guest experiences.

Engaging Experiences
  • Provide exceptional customer service and guest-focused experiences
  • Teach and inspire guests to connect with winter and the sport of snowboarding
  • Deliver clear, concise, and intentional lesson content that aligns with guests' needs, age, stage, goals, utilizing a constructive, positive-first feedback approach.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for guests of all ages, abilities, and personalities.
  • Coordinate and communicate participant level changes with team members, leadership, and guests to maximize positive and safe experiences.
  • Commit to teaching multi‑day/week lessons to enhance our guests’ experiences and connection to both their instructor and the sport.
Communication
  • Communicate with guests and team members in ways that align with our core values: safe, welcoming, inspiring and creative.
  • Adjust communication and skill development strategies to appropriately fit the needs of the guest, considering their age, stage, and goals.
  • Maintain an in‑depth understanding of all Snow School products to assist guests and make informed recommendations.
Operational Effectiveness
  • Support beyond lessons, including the set‑up and take‑down of exciting Snow School areas, rental shop support, and group organization.
  • Lead check‑in and check‑out for guests participating in your lessons.
  • Maintain high personal and professional standards, arriving on time, in uniform, ready and equipped for the day ahead, and adapting to changing conditions.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, Shift Leads and other instructors to ensure the successful execution of snowboard programs, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem‑solving skills and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of guests.

Safety / Risk Mitigation
  • Actively contribute to a safe and welcoming environment by identifying and mitigating hazards, adhering to and teaching the Alpine Responsibility Code, and ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Safely lead snowboard lessons tailored to guests' skill levels and goals, following CASI principles.
  • Maintain Team Member and Guest areas to the highest standard of safety and appearance on and off the hill, including entrances, exits, check‑in and out areas.
  • Actively be aware of the inherent risks associated with snowboarding, making decisions that prioritize the safety of both yourself, other Team Members, and guests.
  • Ensure accurate record‑keeping, including confirming waiver completion, maintaining class cards with accurate descriptions and recording and requesting secure pick‑up codes for child safety.
  • Maintain duty of care at all times ensuring the safety and well‑being of participants in your care by providing proper instruction, supervision, emergency preparedness, choice of appropriate terrain, bathroom breaks, and when taking breaks indoors; including specifically for School Groups maintaining duty of care from “bus to bus” including check‑in, check‑out, and while supervising lunch breaks.
What You Bring
  • Current Level 1, 2, 3 or 4 certification with CASI or foreign equivalent OR registered into a certification course on or before December 15th, 2025 (PSIC certification schedule available now, CASI schedule becomes available in September)
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service skills. Previous related experience is considered an asset.
  • Able to work within a team and independently.
  • Consistently reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
  • Coachable and able to adapt to feedback.
