Overview

Equation Staffing is actively recruiting multiple full-time, permanent Case Workers for our client and their Outreach Program located in Calgary AB. Outreach workers support individuals experiencing addiction, mental health challenges, and homelessness. Working closely with CPS, EMS, Calgary Bylaw, and Calgary Transit, these teams provide an alternative response to public intoxication, crisis situations, and community safety concerns.

This is an active, hands-on position involving patrolling, engaging with community members and local businesses, providing transportation to safe locations, and advocating for vulnerable individuals.

Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
Pay: $24.95/hour (+ $2.00/hour night shift premium from 11pm to 7am).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respectful, non-judgmental, client-centered support.
  • Conduct sweeps, engage with encampments, and connect with individuals in hidden or high-risk areas.
  • Use sound judgment to support clients, including in harsh weather conditions.
  • Advocate for clients and collaborate with partner agencies.
  • Drive agency vehicles and transport individuals as needed.
  • Respond to crises and on-site distress situations.
  • Complete housing assessments (e.g., NSQs).
  • Maintain professional conduct and uphold confidentiality.
  • Liaise with community partners and facilitate educational sessions.
  • Complete administrative tasks (case notes, reports, statistics).
  • Support team collaboration and help onboard new staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in assessments, case management, outreach, or crisis intervention (asset).
  • Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.
  • Compassion, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Clean driver s abstract.
Position Requirements
  • Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s licence; ability to obtain Class 4 licence within 60 days.
  • Physically able to assist clients.
  • Ability to navigate various terrains and weather conditions.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last six months).
  • Ability to wear steel-toed footwear.
  • Clean driver s abstract.
