Job Placement Coach – Calgary Career & Employment Centre

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team at the Calgary Career and Employment Centre (CCEC) as a Job Placement Coach.
Who We Are:
MCG Careers has provided services to unemployed Albertans since 1989. We utilize current career development techniques to assist individuals with successful employment preparation, job placement, training on the job, workshops, and skill training programs. At MCG Careers, We See Good Things in our staff and show it with programs that include staff wellness plans, 35-hour work weeks, Christmas bonus days, summer hours, long weekend early closures, bonus points program, and flex time for our 2-year staff.

Key Qualifications & Responsibilities
What You’ll Bring:
- Training or education in career development, human services, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience or strong interest in relationship-building with employers, community partners, and clients
- Comfort engaging with new employers through outreach, networking, and friendly cold calls
- Ability to support clients through career planning, job search guidance, and case management (at least one year of experience)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members and community stakeholders
- Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new systems (Mobius/TRF experience is an asset)
- Understanding of the local labour market and current hiring trends
- Experience or interest in social media outreach, event coordination, and promoting programs
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
What You’ll Do:
- Build meaningful employer relationships to create job opportunities for clients
- Support clients through individualized employment plans, coaching, and job search strategies
- Match clients to suitable employment based on strengths, goals, and employer needs
- Connect regularly with employers to monitor progress, gather feedback, and celebrate success
- Represent the program at community events, job fairs, and networking functions
- Collaborate with the team to identify labour market trends and support program growth
- Help create a positive, energetic, client-centered environment
