Program Supervisor – Respite Care Connection

Enviros is an innovative social services agency that provides critical, individualized programs to children, youth, adults, and families in vulnerable situations.

The Program – Respite Care Connection promotes, strengthens, and preserves the right for children with developmental disabilities to have a permanent home. The program is community‑based and serves children and youth aged 6‑17. It supports caregivers by providing respite so they can care for themselves and other children.

The Position – Supervisor reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for overseeing the program. The supervisor supports a positive and safe work environment, builds relationships with the community, supervises staff, and ensures compliance with Enviros policies, health and safety protocols, and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers
  • Establish and maintain an intake process as per contract requirements
  • Maintain contact with client’s case workers, supports, and service teams as needed
  • Maintain program standards and enforce Enviros Principle‑Based Practice model
  • Ensure a trauma‑informed care model is used in service decisions
  • Develop and review service plans regularly
  • Support access to community resources, client support, and crisis intervention
  • Provide training and community resources for identified needs within the program
  • Ensure the program meets intended outcomes as outlined in the contract
  • Complete safety plans when needed
  • Develop and maintain transition plans
  • Participate in the agency on‑call system
  • Organize and maintain a safe working environment
  • Other duties as required
  • Actively support and develop the Enviros Strategic and Business Plan; set goals and objectives that meet identified targets
  • Promote staff involvement within the Enviros community
  • Attend Leadership Meetings as required
  • Organize and chair program team meetings
  • Oversee program budget and maintain expenses with the Manager
  • Ensure all program files and client paperwork are completed
  • Compile and report on outcome measures, nominal roll, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and other required reports

Potential Risks All programs within Enviros provide services to persons served who may be described as a vulnerable person. Employees must be aware of the potential risks, including physical and/or mental harm, associated with Enviros programs and this role.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience

Weekend availability required.

  • Diploma / Undergraduate Degree in Human Services
  • Experience with needs assessment and supporting children & youth with complex needs (eg. ASD, FASD) as well as supporting adults and families in healthy change
  • Highly organized with strong experience with various reporting tools and frameworks
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with experiential learning and strength‑based practice
