OverviewWe are looking for a skilled roofer to install, repair, and maintain various roofing systems on residential and commercial properties. The position requires reading blueprints, supervising workers, and applying waterproof coatings, among other tasks.
Responsibilities- Install built‑up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
- Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs.
- Install single‑ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Repair or replace single‑ply roofing systems and general roofing systems.
- Supervise other workers.
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level.
- Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
- Estimate costs and materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
- Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. - Experience:
7 months to less than 1 year in roofing or related field. - Language:
English. - Work location:
On site at 138 Cornerstone Road NE Calgary, AB T3N 1R7. - Work site environment: at heights, noisy, dusty, outdoors.
- Employment type:
Permanent, full‑time, 32‑40 hours per week, hourly rate $37.00. - Work time:
Morning shift.
