Senior DAS, Fiber & 5G Radio Installation Technician – join our dynamic telecommunications team.
About the JobThis position will be responsible for securing the knowledge base to effectively install DAS systems, fiber optics cable (splicing). The individual will perform site assessments, evaluate existing telco systems, generate CAD drawings, and perform RF antenna work.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides.
- Install and secure cables, mount hardware as described in drawings and notes.
- Place, cut, prepare, terminate and secure copper coaxial and optical fiber to their respective connectors, affix splitters based on designs.
- Terminate, test, and troubleshoot cables and antennas.
- Update customer prints, documentation, and facilitate document storage.
- Accurately report status, material usage, and expenses.
- Contribute to creating a professional and safe work environment.
- Supervise junior level employees.
- At least 5 years of related work experience with in‑building DAS, fiber & 5G systems for Public Safety and Enterprise & Cellular solutions.
- Supervisory experience of junior employees is an asset.
- Installation experience with one of the OEM systems: JMA Wireless, Westell, Andrew, Corning, BTI, ADRF, GST, or Solid in‑building.
- Hands‑on experience utilizing Antrisu for signal propagation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies CDMA, EVDO, GSM, UMTS, W‑CDMA, LTE/5G.
- Knowledge of passive repeater‑based equipment preferred;
General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is a plus. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to install pathways, spaces, bonding, grounding, and fire‑stopping.
- Manual dexterity for fine motor tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Understand and adhere to NEC, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and local building codes, standards.
- Teamwork and strong multitasking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Regular hours 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM, with flexibility for evenings/night shifts.
- Year‑round, hands‑on work on rooftop cell sites and towers.
- Work outdoors, at heights or in confined spaces.
- Heavy lifting, manual work and proficient use of installation tools.
- Team of 3‑5 technicians on a range of projects including site build, maintenance, upgrade, and decommission.
