Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Duties

• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, loaders and graders to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities
• Maintain equipment and perform regular maintenance as well as keep logs
• Operate heavy paving and surfacing equipment to lay, spread or compact concrete, asphalt and other surface materials during highway and road construction
• Operate compact equipment to prep surfaces for concrete installation
• Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload cargo
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
• Other duties that apply

• Trade certification for heavy equipment operator is an asset
• 3 years of experience is an asset
• Punctual
• Attention to detail
• Must be able to pass drug testing if incidences occur
• Strong communicator
• Able to work independent and part of a team
• GPS experience preferred
• Experience with performing regular maintenance on machines
• Must have valid driver's licence

• Extended Medical and Dental after 300 hours
• Out of town meal allowance provided
