Join our team as a MIG Tack Welder/Fitter where you will contribute to fabricating enclosures for electrical wiring panels used in the oil field and data center industries. This role requires interpreting welding blueprints, performing simpler and repetitive tasks, and engaging in lighter welding and easy tacking (flat/horizontal) for jigs and frames. The work involves a balanced split between fitting and welding.

• Fabricate and weld enclosures using MIG Tack welding techniques.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints accurately.
• Perform repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.
• Adjust to lighter welding and easy tacking tasks.
• Operate welding machines, understanding gauges and speed settings.
• Balance duties equally between fitting and welding tasks.

• 1.5+ years of experience in welding, fabrication, and fitting.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Ability to read a tape measure with accuracy.
• Experience in MIG welding and understanding of machine operations.

• Experience with welding enclosures.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Familiarity with flux, metal, SMAW, TIG, and structural welding is beneficial.

Work in a modern, main shop environment with shifts available during the day (6:30 AM - 3 PM, Monday-Friday) and nights (Monday – Thursday, 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM). Start on day shifts for training purposes before transitioning to evening shifts, with a $2 premium for night work. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including CSA-approved boots, a welding mask, safety glasses, and gloves are required, and you may bring your own welding hand tools.

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
