The Automotive Technician is responsible for servicing/repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position may include field work on down buses in addition to shop activities.

• Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
• Diagnose equipment problems
• CVIP Inspections
• Respond to breakdowns
• Spring and winter maintenance
• Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
• Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
• Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines

• Journeyperson Ticket
• Must possess own tools for the job
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• 2 – 5 years related experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset
• Exposure to working on diesel, propane, and gasoline engines
• Experience with automatic transmissions
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong diagnostic skills
• Computer proficiency

• $42.50 per hour
• Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday)
