Location: Calgary, Alberta (with travel across Alberta and occasional work in the USA)

Position Type: Full-time

Wage/Salary Range: Competitive and commensurate with experience, including a hydrogen-certified technician premium once operational

Day shift with travel-based scheduling based on project requirements

Hours Per Day: 8–12 hours depending on project scope and location

Job Overview: Grizzly Trek Group Ltd. is currently seeking one H59-D Installation Technician (Diesel Mechanic – Journeyperson or Apprentice) to support Grizzly Trek’s H59-D Hydrogen Integration Program. This full-time position is based out of Calgary, Alberta, with work extending across Alberta and occasional assignments in the United States. The role is ideally suited to a mechanically and electrically skilled professional interested in advanced diesel integration and alternative-fuel technologies, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Install and commission H59-D hydrogen–diesel integration systems on Class 7–8 diesel trucks and heavy equipment
  • Perform diesel engine integration, mechanical modifications, and associated electrical work
  • Conduct CANbus/J1939 data collection, diagnostics, and system validation
  • Complete commissioning, safety testing, and required documentation
  • Work in field environments supporting large fleet operations while adhering to Grizzly Trek safety and quality standards
Qualifications
  • HET-certified journeyperson or registered apprentice Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated electrical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on heavy-duty diesel engines and mobile equipment
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel for field-based assignments
  • Commitment to safety and willingness to complete hydrogen system training
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CANbus/J1939 diagnostics and electronic control systems
  • Exposure to alternative fuels, emissions systems, or retrofit technologies
Work Environment
  • Field-based work at fleet facilities, job sites, and remote locations
  • Hands-on mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic work on heavy equipment
  • Travel within Alberta is required, with occasional work in the USA
