We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Field Technician - Journeyperson to join our Service team in Calgary, AB
What's the challenge?
As our Heavy Equipment Technician
, you’ll play an integral role in performing major diagnostics and major repairs and servicing all equipment in fleet with minimal supervision. You are responsible for providing the highest quality of service and complying with the company’s established policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for developing and coaching apprentices.

What do we expect from you?
. You have done the hard work and training required to earn certification as a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician and you’re ready to apply all that you have learned to make Great West Equipment your customers’ first choice.
. You cut to the chase by collecting and examining technical information and make decisions on what is relevant in order to pinpoint issues with different equipment systems. You will have an in-depth understanding of diagnostic tools, how to access product information, and you’ll be proficient in providing solutions to problems in a timely manner with minimal assistance. As well you will thrive on the challenge of troubleshooting and possess the ability to read various system diagrams
. You may need to work under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on quality service. As well, you could be working in remote areas with limited access to technical support or working in extreme weather conditions – hot, cold, raining, snowing, greasy and dusty. This can be a physical job with heavy lifting and carrying. The pace can be fast, the hours can be long during busy cycles and you may also need to work overtime.
You will also realize that you need to recharge regularly – we insist that you take your vacation time!
. You’re going to get to know your customers, their equipment, and their business. You’ll build rapport and trust and you’ll be able to provide information and solutions to keep your customers up and running.
