Continental is currently seeking Field Services Technicians who will be responsible for executing a variety of electrical and mechanical field services throughout Western Canada for our location in Edmonton.

The FSS is a hybrid role combining on‑site electrical and mechanical services with assistance in the Service Centre, if needed. Primary responsibility is to execute field services while assisting in the building & maintaining influential relationships with customers and co‑workers.

What you will do:
  • Inspections, perform visual inspections on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • As a Field Service Specialist you will service, repair, and maintain rotating equipment in the field.
  • Preventative maintenance, provide customers with ideas on how to accommodate preventive maintenance in their schedule.
  • Troubleshooting: motors, generators, different parts of the units.
  • Customer Service, communicate all information to customers in a way they understand the issues & resolutions.
  • Complete reports on the work you have completed.
  • Ability to travel in a company service vehicle throughout the local counties, maintain vehicle inventory, and safety maintenance.
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organization provincial and federal safety regulations codes and specifications.
  • Perform and lead large motor overhauls job scopes which involve a great degree of complexity and people.
  • HV and mechanical testing for electro‑mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to innovate and expand in the condition monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Promote a professional company image, strong voice to employees and customers.
  • Willing and able to work overtime on weekdays, weekends, and be available to respond to customer emergencies when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we need from you:
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Accountability and strong attention to detail
  • Self‑starter, with developed analytical and problem‑solving skills
Core Competencies
  • The successful candidate must be motivated, organized, disciplined with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work collaboratively with the various teams in the organization. Must have sound technical skills, proficiency in estimating and report writing.
  • Registered EMST Apprentice. Journeyman Red Seal, Electric Motor Systems Trade Certification or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years or more years’ experience in the field.
  • Self‑motivated and calm under pressure, ability to work troubleshoot in semi‑autonomous environment.
  • Solid communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Ability to solve problems on site and under time constraints.
