Position: Journeyperson Gasfitter - Class A / B

Build Your Career with Ledcor! Ledcor is hiring experienced Gas fitters with pipe fitting experience to join our team for the construction of the USG Wheatland Wallboard Plant in Carseland, Alberta. This project involves assembling and installing a wallboard production line, including product stands, reels, conveyors, a natural gas drying kiln, platforms, stairs/ladders, and stacking/load-out equipment. Additionally, the construction scope includes the installation of ducting for air exchange systems, heat exchangers, and recirculation fans along the drying kiln.

Work Conditions
  • Schedule:

    5 days on, 2 days off (10.5-hour shifts)

Essential Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings and follow code specifications and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industrial piping systems.
  • Installation, repair and testing / commissioning of gas mains and distribution pipes.
  • Working on natural gas pipes - Measure, cut, thread and assemble pipe using tools such as pipe cutters, pipe threading machines and pipe vices.
  • Install, test and replace defective equipment or components.
  • Inspect, test and troubleshoot.
Qualifications
  • Red Seal Gasfitter Certification / Have a Journeyperson Gasfitter - Class A or Class B certification from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • Physically fit (able to lift 50 lbs., bend, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs regularly).
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
  • Valid Driver’s License & reliable transportation (due to project location).
  • Additional certifications are an asset:
    • ESC Fall Protection
    • ESC Elevated Work Platform
    • Basic Rigging
