Environmental Division Lead
Our Alberta based client is seeking an Environmental Division Lead to join their team. As the Environmental Division Lead, you will play a key role in leading project execution, providing technical mentorship, and supporting strategic direction for the division. The successful candidate will bring a broad technical background across environmental site assessments, soils, vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, aquatics, and permitting. You will oversee project delivery, client relationships, and the professional development of a team of environmental scientists and biologists.
This role is ideal for someone with a consulting background, strong leadership capability, and a passion for growing and mentoring teams.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Provide technical oversight and strategic leadership for a diverse portfolio of environmental projects.
- Supervise and mentor a team of biologists and environmental professionals, supporting career development and quality assurance.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of environmental assessments, including Phase I/II ESAs, soils and vegetation studies, wildlife and aquatic assessments, wetlands delineation, and habitat evaluations.
- Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations.
- Support internal training, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your strengths include:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, with exposure to a broad range of disciplines (e.g., ESAs, soils, vegetation, aquatics, wildlife, wetlands, permitting).
- Experience supervising or mentoring technical teams within a consulting or project-based environment.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Soil Science, or a related field
- Professional designations (e.g., P.Biol., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of Canadian environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Experience working on environmental projects within Alberta and British Columbia
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills
