Natural Gas Originator

We are partnered with a client looking to hire a Natural Gas Originator in Calgary. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with established relationships within the West (i.e. PNW, AECO, California) region and a proven track record of structuring various natural gas transactions.

• Proactively identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key natural gas market participants, including utilities, power generators, and industrials, municipalities, producers, and other marketers
• Drive business development by leveraging industry contacts and exploring new market opportunities, including pipelines, LNG, storage, and infrastructure.
• Develop and execute strategies to secure long‑term natural gas supply and off‑take agreements.
• Collaborate closely with internal trading, commercial, and risk management teams to structure competitive and profitable transactions.
• Travel to meet clients and attend industry events to strengthen relationships and promote business opportunities.

• Suggested minimum of 5+ years of experience in natural gas origination, business development, or related roles within an energy marketing or trading environment.
• Demonstrated experience structuring transactions, including physical and financial deals, including pipeline gas and transportation.
• Strong network of industry contacts.
• Self‑starter with a high level of initiative and the ability to independently generate new business opportunities.
