Business Development Representative – Building Materials (Hybrid Full-Time)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative to support and grow our contractor and builder client base in a high-volume building materials environment. This role combines in-office sales coordination with field-based outreach
, relationship management, and new business development.
The ideal candidate has a proven ability to meet sales targets, manage accounts independently, and thrive in a performance-based compensation structure.
Compensation Structure- Base Salary + Commission
- Performance Bonuses: Available based on annual sales milestones (details to be determined)
- Sales performance is measured monthly
- During the initial 3-month probationary period, the employee is expected to work toward a $150,000 sales target
- Following the probationary period, maintaining a minimum monthly sales performance of $150,000 is required
- A portfolio of 80-100 active and inactive accounts will be provided to support early pipeline development and client acquisition
- Develop and manage relationships with contractors, builders, and trade partners
- Actively pursue new business through outreach, site visits, calls, and follow-ups
- Maintain and grow assigned active and inactive customer accounts
- Identify sales opportunities and convert leads into long-term clients
- Conduct pricing discussions, product recommendations, and order coordination
- Collaborate with internal operations and warehouse teams to ensure service excellence
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and revenue
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly and annual sales targets
- Represent the company professionally in both office and field settings
- Hybrid full-time role
- Required to work in-office and travel for outreach and client visits
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and hold a valid driver’s license
- Training will be provided to support onboarding, product knowledge, and internal systems
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Strong Analytical Skills and proficiency in Market Research to identify new opportunities and trends
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Proven experience in Lead Generation and Client Acquisition
- Exceptional Customer Service skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet sales targets
- Familiarity with the construction or building materials industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in building materials, construction, or B2B sales environments
- Familiarity with contractor or trade-based sales cycles
