The OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Pricebook & Inventory Management, the Analyst is primarily focused on supporting Sunoco’s Retail Merchandising business by executing day-to-day retail Pricebook functions. The Retail Pricebook is a critical system that enables us to price merchandise in our stores, understand performance, and execute marketing initiatives such as promotions and discounts. The Analyst will manage coordination and communication of all pricing related activities while ensuring pricebook database integrity.
The Analyst will also monitor sales and promotion activity and relay information to Category Management to enable decision-making for future promotions.
- Process price updates for products/items and marketing initiatives such as promotions and discounts, including item authorization and discontinuation.
- Determine discrepancies, unauthorized items/suppliers, scanning issues, and other pricebook related issues; make the necessary corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Execute store‑level merchandising procedures, including ordering, receiving, markup/markdowns, and pricing.
- Work with vendors to electronically receive pricebook and invoice information.
- Support category managers, suppliers, regional merchandising managers, and retail operations in resolving pricing issues at store level.
- Manage the coordination and communication of price download activities.
- Analyze promotional performance using available tools and make recommendations regarding future promotions based on analysis.
- Perform other administrative and/or analytical duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Exceptionally high level of attention to detail and strong focus on quality of work.
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate large sets of data.
- Demonstrable knowledge of PDI, or similar ERP, Accounting or Pricing systems.
- Must be able to multi‑task and set priorities; critical ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of retail operations and convenience store marketing an asset.
- Bilingualism (French & English) oral and written is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in convenience store, oil and gas, retail, or other supply‑chain/ERP‑intensive industries.
