About the Role
The Quality Inspector (FAI) ensures that aerospace components, assemblies, and processes meet strict airworthiness and customer quality requirements. This role supports in‑process inspections, First Article Inspections (FAI), nonconformance management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement across the production environment.
What You Will Do
Inspection & Compliance
Acquire and maintain knowledge of process specifications, materials, and quality standards.
Perform In‑Progress / Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) inspections on the assembly line.
Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) on detailed parts, minor assemblies, and major aircraft structures.
Perform in‑process and final inspections of detail parts, minor and structural assemblies, including planning, documentation, and record retention.
Ensure all products, processes, and services comply with applicable airworthiness, company, and customer quality requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings,
GD&T, metrology principles, and typical aerospace inspection toolsets.
Nonconformance & Quality Assurance
Raise, document, and manage Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) in accordance with company quality procedures.
Manage nonconforming material control and support containment activities.
Support quality reviews of Engineering Masters.
Participate in corrective action activities resulting from nonconformance trend analysis.
Monitor, measure, and communicate product and process metrics.
Propose and support projects related to quality assurance procedures and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Liaise with quality engineering, methods engineering, design engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve technical or quality issues.
Assist in developing and implementing root cause corrective actions.
Actively contribute as a member of the quality assurance team.
Tooling & Equipment
Manage the control of monitoring and measuring devices (inspection and test equipment) in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
Combination of education and practical training that aligns with job requirements.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
Ability to perform precise measurements and testing of products, tools, and processes, and accurately record results.
Able to work safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision.
