Lead Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — speak with our recruiter for details.

The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer/Manager is responsible for overseeing, preparing, and leading internal and third‑party quality audits. This role collaborates with external auditors, regulatory representatives, and organizational leaders to develop audit schedules, review and approve quality documents and procedures, and ensure compliance with applicable standards. The Manager directs the gathering and evaluation of quality‑related information, analyzes results, and provides clear, actionable summaries and reports to senior leadership, while partnering with the manufacturing team to identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of problems on high‑priority or high‑impact projects.

The ideal candidate has a background in both Quality Assurance and the Electronics Engineering domain.

Essential Job Functions

Planning

  • Plan audit objectives and schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the internal audit schedule.
  • Gather information from production, sales, development, and supporting activities.
  • Analyze quality systems and prior audit information from multiple sources.
  • Assist with audit team selection and audit plan preparation.
  • Represent the audit team with management of the audited areas and with third‑party auditors.

Conduct Internal QMS Audits

  • Perform planned and periodic internal quality system assessments.
  • Gather relevant information from personnel about the approach, deployment, and results of processes and systems.
  • Identify non‑conforming conditions requiring corrective actions, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze findings and create summary presentation.
  • Facilitate closing meeting to review and interpret results with management.
  • Compile and issue a formal report detailing results.
  • Follow up on audits to ensure that solutions/corrective actions are implemented.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of non‑conforming conditions.
  • Assist with determination of corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Support External Audits

  • Respond to auditor requests.
  • Coordinate audit schedule and logistics.
  • Prepare and assist in vetting audit assessment documents.
  • Prepare audit participants and areas.
  • Participate or conduct a tour.
  • Coordinate post‑audit follow‑up and corrective actions.

Support Improvement of the Quality Management System

  • Maintain and improve the QMS through assessment and sharing best practices.
  • Oversee documentation control in the Quality Management System on Add On.
  • Support improvement of the quality assessment process.
  • Assisted or develop and maintain quality management systems and internal procedures and systems.
  • Update QMS to meet current system requirements.
Critical Success Factor

Collaboration with Manufacturing Team to Investigate and Troubleshoot Critical Projects – Work closely with the manufacturing team to identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of problems on high‑priority or high‑impact projects.

Qualifications and Skills Required
  • ASQ Certified.
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing.
  • Defect analysis and troubleshooting experience.
  • Superb problem‑solving ability and resolution management.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate efficiently to plan, execute audits and follow‑up.
  • Working knowledge of QMS document systems and control practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Preferably with knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
  • Provide leadership and assist in corrective action plans.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering (highly preferred). Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Certification such as Lead Assessor course in ISO 9001, Quality Auditor, or Six Sigma is required.
  • 5–8 years of work experience in QMS audits or experience in managing and maintaining quality management system in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Pay:
Up to $90,000 to $120,000 per year.
