The Bayshore Northern Staffing team has proudly been working in partnership with Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) and Northern Communities across Canada since 1997, sending healthcare professionals on travel assignments to bring high-quality healthcare services to the Northern communities in need.
Now, we are looking for skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with Labor & Delivery and/or NICU experience to join our new travel team, who will be sent on short-term travel assignments in acute care hospitals across British Columbia.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to childbearing patients and their families during the intra, postpartum, and high-risk antepartum periods by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in a perinatal clinical unit.
- Build a trusting and respectful connection with patients by showing empathy, protecting their privacy and dignity, and supporting their right to make informed decisions about their care.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of the patient and unborn baby on admission and at regular intervals, identify risk factors, and determine appropriate nursing interventions for the patient/fetus/newborn in crisis and transfer patient/newborn to the most appropriate care area.
- Teach patients and families/support person focusing on health promotion regarding the pregnancy condition, the birth experience, postpartum, newborn care, and parenting.
Candidate Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- A minimum of 18 months (1.5 years) of experience working in a Labor & Delivery environment.
- Current and valid CPR/BLS.
- Current and valid NRP.
