Services Coordinator
Overview
Reporting to the Program Manager, Community Supports, the Employment Services Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of an employment services program offered to eligible WINS participants to prepare them for successful employment in the retail industry. The Coordinator works directly with participants and receives support from other members of the WINS team. As resources allow, the Employment Services Coordinator may also develop training & development for WINS in other staff and client service areas.
Responsibilities- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for WINS participants
- Working with the Manager, Retail Operations, Human Resources, and other stakeholders, deliver a retail employment services program to WINS participants
- Work collaboratively with WINS staff to review and improve the program on an ongoing basis
- Manage the retail employment services program, including training delivery (conducting in-person activities such as classroom, role-play & game exercises, etc., and using e-learning platforms), participant evaluation, training evaluation, ongoing improvement, and training administration
- Lead the evaluation of participants through the program
- Identify areas of improvement and support participants in achieving success
- Contribute to the placement support process for participants after program completion
- Maintain updated and complete records of participant intake, evaluations, placements, statistics, and demographic data
- Maintain updated and complete records of training curriculum and materials
- Responsible for the supervision and coaching of participant during program delivery and WINS practicum work experience hours
- Build strong and productive relationships with partnering groups and organizations
- Prepare reports on program successes and challenges for management, stakeholders, and Board of Directors
- Must be eligible to legally work in Canada
- Post-secondary education related to adult learning and training (Education, Human Resources, etc.) is a significant asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Experience in the retail industry. Knowledge of the skills required to be a successful retail employee
- Solid working knowledge of the full training cycle, including training design, training delivery, training evaluation, participant evaluation, and training administration
- Excellent presentation, customer service, and coaching skills
- Superior communication, collaboration, and motivational skills with both clients and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Experience working with marginalized and diverse populations and an understanding of issues that may impact women in crisis and/or in low income situations
- Team player with a desire to go above and beyond job description duties to ensure success of programs and people
- Strong personal affinity for helping others succeed
- Working knowledge of MS Office:
Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong PowerPoint skills - Valid Driver’s License and have access to a personal vehicle
- Available to work occasional weekend and evening shifts
- Able to provide satisfactory results of a Vulnerable Sector Search check through Calgary Police Service
