We’re inventing the future of libraries. Will you join us as a Board Member?

Calgary Public Library Foundation exists to unlock the full potential of Calgary Public Library by connecting passionate donors to powerful ideas. Together, we remove barriers to access, champion lifelong learning, fuel innovation, and help build a more resilient, inclusive Calgary. Thanks to extraordinary community support, we’ve raised more than $90 million to ensure the Library remains a vibrant, welcoming space where everyone belongs.

We are looking for leaders who are energized by purpose-driven work, committed to community impact, and ready to bring their expertise, networks, and passion to the table. This is an opportunity to contribute to something enduring: a Library system—and a philanthropic engine behind it—that transforms lives every day.

Who we are looking for

Recruitment of four new Board Directors at our Annual General Meeting in May 2026

Of whom one is a lawyer; one of whom is an accountant

Engaged members of our community who are champions for Calgary Public Library

Individuals with strong local relationships, who are excited about facilitating introductions to the Library Foundation and our work

Supporters who are willing and able to commit to five annual board meetings, as well as four committee meetings annually, and who look forward to attending Library Foundation fundraising and stewardship events throughout the year
