Your role

CBC Calgary is looking for a Marketing, Communications and Brand Producer to lead the regional team in establishing strategic partnerships, community engagement initiatives and marketing campaigns. With a focus on equity and inclusion, this role will increase brand awareness and build lasting partnerships with diverse communities in Southern Alberta.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, Communications and Brand, this position requires a strong communicator and strategic planner with experience producing high‑impact public engagement, media relations and marketing campaigns. This includes research and analysis, strategic planning and execution, creative development, event planning, communications counsel, issues management, budget oversight and results measurement.

You will play an important role in building collaborative relationships with CBC Calgary’s leadership team, including managers, editorial teams, external partners and audiences to produce leading‑edge campaigns that build brand trust and loyalty.

Function

Plans, conceives, organizes, and/or develops the production and realization of strategic marketing, communications and brand projects in southern Alberta. Work must conform to CBC program and journalistic policies and standards, and the ethics related to copyright and advertising standards.

Key Tasks
  • Develop and produce strategic partnerships, community engagement initiatives and marketing campaigns, including writing, owned/earned/paid/social media, graphics, creative briefs, and measurement.
  • Conceive and develop inclusive ideas and concepts reflecting the diversity of our communities.
  • Prepare marketing, communications and brand objectives for the region.
  • Determine positioning and format of all projects and campaigns to ensure alignment with CBC’s strategic priorities, brand standards and equity, inclusion and diversity goals.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate and implement marketing, communications and brand campaigns, including audience insights, consultations, outreach, brand alignment, messaging, strategic planning, creative development, tactical implementation and measurement.
  • Collaborate with regional and national producers as part of a Community of Practice (COP) to advance meaningful community engagement.
  • Maintain robust and ongoing communication and feedback with editorial teams.
  • Plan, select and request, with Senior Manager approval, the financial and production/resource requirements, including contributors, event logistics, materials and facilities; exercise budget authority during production.
  • Exercise project management responsibility for strategic partnerships, community engagement initiatives and marketing campaigns.
  • Evaluate all aspects of production against key program performance indicators (KPIs) and optimize strategies and spend based on performance.
As Required, Performs The Following Tasks
  • Select, re‑write and/or edit copy or text written by others.
  • Ensure proper and accurate clearance of all material used in a partnership or campaign in collaboration with Copyright Clearance Officers.
  • Assign, coordinate and supervise the work of personnel who contribute to a partnership or campaign for which the Producer is responsible.
As the Marketing, Communications and Brand Producer, you will bring the following skills and experience to CBC
  • University degree or equivalent in communications, public relations or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ communications experience.
