Project Engineer Co‑Op (Student)
CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer Co‑Op (Student) for our facility in Calgary, Alberta. It is a temporary, full‑time position offering a challenging opportunity to demonstrate leadership ability and expertise in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
Reporting to the Joint Treatment Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Monitoring day‑to‑day process activity and recommending improvements to maximize efficiency and productivity, including waste, speed, delay and raw material usage.
Managing the coordination, implementation and standardization of manufacturing and warehouse process improvements.
Supporting new technology and processes and implementing trial plans.
Leading cross‑functional teams assembled to address process variability.
Incorporating safety into all aspects of the department and ensuring safe working conditions during all activities within the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
Candidates must be in a registered engineering degree program.
Demonstrated strong analytical skills, understanding of data collection, statistics and recognition of the relationship between various process functions.
Proficient with advanced problem‑solving techniques such as SPC, control charts, Pareto charts, process cycle time, fishbone diagrams, flowcharting and process balancing.
Strong communication and leadership skills to foster cross‑functional corrective action activity.
Self‑starter with excellent organizational skills to handle multiple activities.
