At DIRTT you'll be part of Canada's most innovative companies. Working with the product development team you will design and build test apparatus’ suitable to perform the specific test being conducted based on the applicable published standard or intended method of testing to achieve and report the required results internally or externally.
What You’ll Do:
  • Design and build test apparatus’ suitable to perform the specific test being conducted based on the applicable published standard or intended method of testing to achieve and report the required results internally or externally.
  • Perform internal experiments and tests on materials used in production to evaluate their properties, durability, and suitability for specific applications.
  • Work directly with production to determine and record best manufacturing practices for new finishes, materials, or assemblies and establish and record their specific processes for mass production.
  • Work with Procurement to establish Quality documentation for vendor onboarding as required.
  • Aide in the development of manufacturing SOP’s for new product to achieve consistent output and quality.
  • Conduct thorough quality control tests and inspections on new product designs.
  • Collaborate with the production team to and implement improvements in the manufacturing process to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Collect and analyze data from experiments and quality control tests, providing insights and recommendations for product improvements.
  • Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment and machinery, including the rapid prototyping lab, acoustic labs, and black ops.
  • Identify issues or irregularities in materials or production processes and propose solutions to address them.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols and ensure that all laboratory practices comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to experiments, quality control, and material testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to support product development and improvements.
  • What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field. Certified Test Engineers will be an extraordinary bonus
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical process control.
  • Hands on construction experience with all common hand, power tools and machinery.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within a manufacturing or materials testing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of materials properties, testing methods, and quality control processes.
  • Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and innovate.
  • Requires attention to detail, precision, with strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
  • Effective communication and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Work in an environment with potential exposure to chemicals and industrial materials.
  • Certification in quality management (ASQ Certified Quality Manager) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools.
  • Proven project management experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of DIRTT product and processes would be a strong asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Problem solver with the ability to think analytically and outside the box.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • People oriented with an ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and vendors
