SALARY: Starting Salary Opportunity: $50,000

BONUS: Bonus at Target $7,200

Job Summary

Banded Peak strives to be an industry leader in quality beer and manufacturing practices. Products are adventurous in nature and require full attention to detail during the brewing process and into package. Banded Peak strives to be Alberta’s number one choice for craft beer. As a quality technician you will be required to sample and identify any quality issues within the brewery, have a strong understanding of experimental trials, record keeping and reporting.

The quality technician will carry out regular testing, instrument calibrations, and cleaning on a weekly basis to ensure that specification targets are met and are consistent.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to Safety standards including food safety
  • Regular data entry, analysis, and reporting
  • Maintain, calibrate and repair equipment to ensure instruments are operational and reliable
  • Weekly water chemistry tests, yeast counts, and micro plating
  • Sample beer and lead sensory program for quality assurance
  • Verify production CIP and sanitation
  • Daily packaging checks (ABV, CO2, etc.)
  • Blocking and release of any non-conforming or suspect products
  • Customer complaint investigation
  • Positive representation of Banded Peak at internal and external events.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related-science field or equivalent lab experience (Required)
  • Previous experience at a commercial production brewery (Preferred)
  • Experience with Microbiology (Preferred)
  • Understanding of HACCP, Food safety, Food technology would be considered an asset
