About the RoleAmrize Canada Inc. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products for the construction industry. This full‑time position is located at our Calgary Bagging Cement Terminal. The main focus is to ensure the terminal’s cleanliness and general housekeeping while operating and maintaining terminal equipment. Responsibilities also include bulk truck loading, bulk rail car unloading, and associated administrative reporting. The successful candidate will maintain high safety and quality assurance standards.
Physical work is a significant part of the role; all required operation, equipment, and safety training will be provided.
- Actively participate in and operate within the terminal Safety Program in compliance with Amrize Canada Inc’s safety and environmental policies.
- Maintain terminal housekeeping – general labor related duties and cleanup.
- Unload bulk railcars and load bulk semi‑trucks.
- Operate and perform daily maintenance of rail unloading and bulk truck loading equipment.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload packaged cement.
- Supervise and direct contractors on site when required.
- Direct activities of truck/railway carriers on site.
- Inventory control.
- Perform other duties for which the employee is trained.
- Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Required
Work Experience:
Understanding of building materials industry, including cement product knowledge is an asset.
Required Training/
Certifications:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Technical
Experience:
Computer literacy – Google platform is a benefit.
- Ability to work overtime and willing to work shift work if required.
- Comfortable and capable of working outdoors and at heights.
- Demonstrates commitment to safety.
- Mechanical aptitude is a positive attribute.
- Time and self‑management skills as part of a team or independently.
- Physically fit to encompass labor requirements—able to lift 55 lbs.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑production environment.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and proper use of approved PPE, including respirators. Clean shaven required for respirator fit.
