Shearers is seeking a Plant Director to lead our Calgary, AB facility. You will be responsible for leading plant operations, achieving customer satisfaction and critical business objectives, and building an empowered team. You'll need previous experience providing leadership and direction while developing and implementing a manufacturing strategy, including continuous improvement and lean. You have honed your skills in leadership, continuous improvement, team building and customer relationships.
Responsibilities- Lead plant operations to achieve customer satisfaction and critical business objectives.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategy, continuous improvement initiatives and lean processes.
- Build and empower high‑performing manufacturing teams.
- Interface with customers regarding product quality and service requirements.
- Oversee production planning, safety initiatives, scheduling, line set‑up, change‑outs, production control and optimization.
- Maintain manufacturing standards and metrics (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, labor, material variances, employee relations and retention.
- Plant management leadership experience in a food/beverage or CPG manufacturing environment.
- Track record of results in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience building, developing and leading high‑performing manufacturing teams.
- Hands‑on experience with Continuous Improvement/Lean tools (Total Production Maintenance, centerlines, CILs, defect handling, 5S, quick change‑over).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technical or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in plant management or senior production operations roles of increasing responsibility in food or CPG manufacturing environments.
- Success in leading organizations with measurable results.
