Currently seeking an Operations Director to join the team in Canmore, AB.
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all Receiving, Manufacturing, and Shipping activity at the Canmore, Alberta Workshop. With a Growth Mindset, the Director of Operations focuses on the development of their team through investment in HR, commitment to Quality Management System (QMS) Compliance, and linking KPIs to Learning & Development to High-Performance Teams. This role is also responsible for leading the scale up of manufacturing and fulfillment processes to meet our company growth goals.
We are seeking a strong leader with a passion for natural products, who can drive continuous improvement and innovation within company's manufacturing facilities.
What you'll be doing
Leadership and Coaching
Responsible for leading with a 'Quality = Success' mindset and a commitment to being audit readyEnsure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the team (including Good Manufacturing Practices and Natural Health Products)Provide development and growth opportunities for Managers (direct reports) and team members (indirect reports)Develop strategies to provide tools and training needed to delegate responsibility to teams and empower them while holding them accountable for the outcomesDirect, maintain and improve mechanisms for measuring activities and disseminate feedback to the teams for continuous improvementActively participate in Senior Leadership Team decisions, and partner with other leaders to create alignment and unity around strategic prioritiesMonitor production metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actionsProduction Operations
Lead in Labour Planning (Direct Labour) to ensure that Manufacturing meets requirements including schedule attainmentOptimize inventory management, reducing waste while ensuring adequate supply levels to meet production demandsDirect and manage the Procurement and Material Management process to ensure the right materials and packaging are available for production needs while managing inventory targetsLead initiatives for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased productivityResponsible for ensuring effective Preventative Maintenance, Cleaning & Sanitation and Building Maintenance processes are in placeStay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge in manufacturing practicesWarehouse, Shipping/Receiving
Responsible for directing, managing, and monitoring the overall performance of the shipping team to meet targets and maximizing the quality of experience to the company's customersResponsible for preparing shipping for seasonal demand and building a supply chain that is strong and stable to withstand unforeseen challengesDoes this sound like you?
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related fieldA minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chainExtensive experience building, leading and inspiring teams with a strong ability to create an environment where people are empowered to be their bestSkilled in fostering an engaged and motivated team environment that drives collaboration and high performanceExperienced in designing and implementing training programs that streamline onboarding, ensuring new hires achieve productivity standards quickly and measurablyHighly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in managing teams, operations and processesSkilled in problem-solving and conflict management, with a proven ability to address challenges and implement effective solutions that drive collaboration and operational successFamiliarity with LEAN, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen and ISO Quality Standards and other related methodologiesProven ability to manage departmental budgetsProficiency in manufacturing and supply chain management software and tools, such as ERP/MRP systems (Net Suite preferred), inventory management software, and demand planning toolsProven ability to design and implement strategic change management initiativesWhat's in it for you?
