At Calgary International Airport (YYC), LAZ oversees parking operations, enforcement, taxi services (starter, holding lot, and curbside dispatch) — ensuring seamless, safe, and professional transportation management that meets the highest airport standards.

Spirit of the Position:

The Assistant Site Manager supports the Site Manager in the overall administration, leadership, and daily operation of all on-site services at Calgary International Airport, including parking management, taxi operations, curbside dispatch, and enforcement functions.

This position plays a pivotal role in coordinating operations, mentoring supervisors, ensuring compliance with airport and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence.


Core Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Support daily management of airport parking operations, taxi dispatch, taxi holding lot, and curbside traffic flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all Airport Authority protocols, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Monitor staff scheduling, attendance, and performance to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing contingency and emergency response plans, maintaining 24/7 operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to manage day-to-day site issues, ensuring smooth operations across all service areas.

Personnel Management and Training

  • Supervise frontline team members and shift leads, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and continuous training programs — promoting professional development and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records for licensing, certifications, and airport access credentials.
  • Reinforce LAZ’s servant leadership culture by modeling professionalism, teamwork, and customer care.

Client and Stakeholder Relations

  • Assist the Site Manager in maintaining strong, transparent relationships with the Calgary Airport Authority and other key stakeholders.
  • Attend operational meetings, report on performance metrics, and address issues proactively.
  • Serve as a liaison between LAZ Parking, taxi companies, enforcement staff, and airport partners.

Financial and Administrative Duties

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense control measures to achieve financial goals.
  • Assist with preparation of operational and financial reports, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manage inventory and company equipment, ensuring accountability and maintenance compliance.

Customer Service and Quality Assurance

  • Promote a customer-first culture, ensuring all guests and transportation partners receive professional and courteous service.
  • Monitor curbside operations to ensure safe and efficient vehicle and pedestrian flow.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns tactfully, ensuring timely resolution in line with LAZ and Airport Authority standards.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or assistant management experience in parking, transportation, or airport operations.
  • Proven ability to manage frontline personnel and deliver high-quality service in a dynamic environment.

Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Analytical mindset for operational data and financial reporting.
  • Capable of coaching, conflict resolution, and team development.

Physical Demands

  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move between multiple operational areas for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs…
