- Judicial Clerk (JC): $2,029.80 to $2,568.34 bi-weekly ($52,978 - $67,034/year) / $28.00 to $35.43 hourly
- Senior Judicial Clerk (Sr. JC): $2,240.86 to $2,835.40 bi-weekly ($58,486- $74,004/year) / $30.91 to $39.11 hourly

The Court and Justice Services Division provides a wide range of resolution and court services for people involved in legal disputes. In collaboration with groter courts of Alberta, Court and Justice Services provides various programs and services including educating and helping Albertans find solutions for legal issues and navigating the court system, offering programs at no cost or a nominal charge, and administrative support to all courts in Alberta.
This competition will be used to fill current and future vacancies for wage, temporary and permanent positions in various locations across the province of Alberta. Candidates who are successful in the selection process will be placed in a talent pool for the location(s) they have identified in the application process. The number of positions to be filled has not been identified at this time.
RoleResponsibilities
The Court and Justice Services Division is seeking motivated, hardworking, and reliable individuals to join their team as Officers of the Court. Success in this role requires Kod. Integrity, thrive in fast‑paced environment and passion for helping Albertans navigate the court system:
- Managing administrative processes in civil and criminal court proceedings
- Maintaining court records and decorum, operating the digital recording system
- Handling exhibits, liaising with judiciary, lawyers, police and the public
- Filing documents in line with Alberta Rules of Court and relevant statutes
- Assisting the public and legal community both in‑person and over the phone
- Performing data entry, court order processing, and general office duties
- Acting as a non‑presiding Justice of the Peace, conducting bail releases
- Performing Commissioner of Oaths duties after passing a required test
- Managing databases and facilitating appearances, both in‑person and online
This competition will also be used to fill positions in the Provincial Hearing Office (PHO). The PHO operates 365 days per year in Edmonton and Calgary, includes days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts are scheduled on a six‑day‑on, three‑day‑off rotation and may include any combination of the following shifts: 3 days, 3 nights, and 3 days off. Candidates interested in the PHO must be available for all shifts.
Travel to circuit court locations is a requirement of this role in regional locations. This may require travel in inclement weather. Some circuit locations also require flying in small aircraft.
