Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Development - Lead, supervise, train and mentor Procurement Parts and Materials team members for peak team performance and development. Liase with Human Resources and Senior Director Procurement to fill any vacancies and ensure necessary team resource levels. Ensure metrics for each group within the team are being met or exceeded.
  • Overall responsibility is to ensure that Boardwalk’s Procurement Team is procuring product at the best possible value taking into consideration price, quality, timeliness. Lead, hire and maintain Associates within the Procurement team
  • Working with Boardwalk’s operations team to ensure effective and efficient product inventory levels
  • Analyze and prepare reports based on our procurement
  • Sourcing and pricing products, services, suppliers & contractors in adherence to Boardwalk policy
  • Placing orders, using our in‑house systems in adherence to Boardwalk’s policy
  • Prepare and negotiate competitive bids and agreements
  • Work closely with our warehouse and distribution teams to expedite receipt of product both at our warehouses and our properties.
  • Prepare and review consumption reports and make recommendations for standardization or changes to existing products or services.
  • Do market research on product categories and be familiar with product/service specs, market conditions, etc.
  • Work closely with our internal stakeholders (Design, Capital Projects, Acquisitions, Preventative Maintenance, Contracts and Operations, teams in sourcing, pricing and receipt of products and services
  • Help with the sourcing, pricing, and maintenance of Boardwalk’s vehicle and equipment fleet.
  • Work closely with our in‑house IT team to design, develop and implement changes and new features to Boardwalk’s procurement and Property Management Systems
Experience and Educational Requirements
  • Home Building / Construction purchasing experience is an asset
  • Property Management experience an asset
  • Post secondary education is an asset
  • French/English bilingual an asset
Technical Requirements
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems and new technology
  • Ability to do basic financial analysis
