It is the responsibility of the Service Person to maintain and repair fleet equipment. Willing to conduct routine preventive maintenance, scheduling future maintenance, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing dysfunctional parts. Conduct routine equipment and vehicle inspections. Maintain transportation of dangerous ticket and working knowledge of safety policies in accordance with OHS. Willing to conduct job-specific hazard assessments.
What You'll Do Here- Comply with Personal Protective Equipment policy.
- Servicing and Maintenance of fleet vehicles.
- Perform annual inspections.
- Daily Maintenance and pre-trip inspections.
- Care and maintenance of company property.
- Maintain safe working habits/environment.
- Required to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committees.
- Participate in Aecon Safety Tool Box Meetings.
- Ensure accidents/incidents are reported.
- Participate in Hazard Assessments and ensure workplace hazards are identified and effective mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Co‑ordinate activities with the Supervisor.
- Perform tasks productively and safely, drug and alcohol free.
- Maintain a daily activity diary.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- The ability to work with limited supervision; must be a self-starter.
- Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Working knowledge of the Regulations for Industrial Establishments.
- Working knowledge of other Regulations, e.g. WHMIS, Designated Substances, Smoking in the Workplace, etc.
- The ability to work in various climate conditions.
- The ability to work away from home for extended periods.
- The ability to work overtime as required.
The ability to work weekends as required. - Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic understanding of equipment operations.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class
5) - Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
- Commitment to Safety.
- Able to read and understand parts manuals and schematics.
- Must not have allergies connected to fuel, lubrication oil and grease, or fumes.
- Respect in the workplace.
- Communication, Integrity and Trust.
- Certified in Road Builders Safety Training System (RSTS) available at ATW or a local Construction Association Office (1-day course).
When on a site, may be subjected to extreme noise, heat and various climate conditions. May be expected to climb ladders, climb into/onto and around vehicles. Must be able to work in multiple physical positions to make repairs, ability to twist, turn, squat, kneel, push, pull and lift 50+ pounds. Must be able to work while lying on a creeper underneath a vehicle and must have unrestricted manual dexterity of hands, wrists, as well as lower and upper arms.
May be expected to work long hours in remote locations. Able to perform repetitive tasks.
