Hiring Requirements
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and optimizing maintenance activities to support reliable plant operations. This role develops detailed work plans, ensures resources and materials are available, and maintains accurate records within the computerized maintenance management system. The Maintenance Planner works closely with maintenance, operations, inventory, and external vendors to support efficient workflow execution and continuous improvement. Ideal candidates bring strong technical aptitude, maintenance experience, and proficiency with CMMS tools to help drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Develop logical work sequences, cost estimates, and resource plans; update and maintain records in the computerized maintenance management system.
- Identify and resolve issues, recommend process improvements, and ensure routine schedules are met.
- Provide technical planning and scheduling for short‑and long‑term maintenance activities to support optimal operational performance.
- Support the Supervisor by specifying, testing, and implementing approved enhancements to information and work management systems.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Inventory to ensure availability of required parts and services.
- Interact professionally with internal customers and external vendors.
- Manage and prioritize work order requests.
- Perform Maximo responsibilities, including creating and processing notifications, work orders, and preventive‑maintenance transactions.
- Track and report key maintenance performance metrics.
- Monitor schedule progress and execution of work programs.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain all maintenance records.
- Complete P‑Card, downtime, utility readings, and labour‑hours reconciliations and reporting.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience; progress toward millwright or electrician certification considered an asset.
- Experience in the food, beverage, or packaged goods industry is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with Maximo is an asset.
The annual salary range for applicants is: $59,150‑$80,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
