General Labourer - Maintenance

Wheatland Housing Management Body is seeking a reliable and hardworkingGeneral Labourer to support the daily operations and maintenance of our residences. This entry-level role plays a key part in ensuring our facilities remain clean, safe and welcoming for our residents / tenants.

Ideal candidates are team players with a strong work ethic and a respectful, service-minded attitude towards older adults.

Position will be a thirty-two hour work week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance and repairs across the facility (indoor and outdoor).
• Perform groundskeeping duties, such as lawn care, snow removal, and general landscaping.
• Help with moving furniture, setting up rooms for events or new residents.
• Clean and sanitize common areas, including walkways, lobbies and utility spaces.
• Assist maintenance and housekeeping teams with various tasks as assigned.
• Monitor and restock supplies, such as salt, cleaning materials, and tools.
• Safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or needed repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all WHMB health and safety procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in general labour, maintenance, or custodial work is an asset.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and working outdoors.
• Comfortable working around seniors in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Must pass a background check; additional health screenings may be required.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
