Proofreader-Revisor

Overview

Hybrid work schedule - 4 days in office. This position can be filled in any of our offices across Canada.

• Specialize in French proofreading and ensure the quality of French original or translated documents by correcting errors in syntax, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting.
• Verify proofs.
• Make suggestions as to form, if any.
• Compare the original text with the translation to ensure the accuracy of numbers, names, dates, etc.
• Manage multiple mandates at a time and set priorities based on client deadlines.
• Provide support to members of the firm on language issues, for ad hoc requests and editorial assistance.

• Degree in translation, literature, linguistics or a related discipline.
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat.
• Familiarity with CAT tools quality assurance functions, AI platforms and translation management tools (TMS) is an asset.
• Meticulous, rigorous and very good observation skills.
• Ability to communicate concisely and adapt the level of review according to the request and time allocated.
• Self-management, teamwork and strong relationship skills.
• Ability to meet often tight deadlines.
• Readily available to work outside normal working hours.

The salary bands provided reflect the typical range for this role in the region indicated. Final compensation will be thoughtfully determined based on individual qualifications and current market factors. Salary will be discussed and negotiated during the interview. Toronto: $69,700 - $86,100;
Ottawa: $68,000 - $84,100;
Vancouver: $68,000 - $84,100.
